Programme
Day 1. Meeting with our Tour Manager, who will assist the group up to and including departure, near the Farfa Abbey, in a restaurant where you can try the famous Sabine extra virgin olive oil during lunch. Guided visit to the Abbey once a truly important centre of Carolingian power. Free time to visit the village and the numerous craft shops. Then on to hotel in Rieti for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2. Buffet breakfast then guided visit of Rieti’s historical centre: The Cathedral (XII century).
The San Rufo Square defined as “Umbilicus Italiae”, the Roman bridge and other monuments and evocative corners that testify to the ancient history of this Sabine capital. Lunch in hotel.
Distribution of the passports for the St. Francis Way. Coach excursion to visit the sanctuaries of Santa Maria della Foresta with the tiny church of St. Fabiano, the little house where the miracle of the grapes took place and the little cloister; then Poggio Bustone , the first Franciscan convent of the Rieti area made from of cells in the rock where the saint lived, and a convent built on these same cells. Return to hotel, free time, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3. Buffet breakfast then coach excursion to visit another two sanctuaries: First the Fonte Colombo where the saint had his eyes operated on, and which includes the tiny ancient church of the Maddalena, and the Sacred Cave where the saint wrote the rules of the order; then the second, Greccio with the crib grotto, the old refectory and cell of the saint, the dormitory of St. Bonaventura, and finally the international crib exhibition. Lunch in a typical restaurant immersed in the green countryside and presentation of the Pilgrims Certificate. During the return journey, a visit to the MarmoreFalls park accompanied by our guide or a boat trip on Lake Piediluco. End of services.

Services included
2 nights in hotel in Rieti ( 1 full and 1 half board); typical lunch in restaurant on first and third days, adequate of water and wine at meals; guided visits as programme, entrance fee to the Marmore Falls Park or boat trip on Lake Piediluco. Welcome kit and assistance for obtaining the “ Pilgrims Certificate.” Tour Manager’s presence throughout.
