A successful preview for the DVD video on the Saint Francis Walk
06/07/2004 On Monday 5 July, an attentive and curious audience packed Rieti’s Sala dei Cordari for a preview of the DVD video promoted by the Rieti Tourist Board and dedicated to the Saint Francis Walk. After the screening, the hall broke into enthusiastic applause, ensuring the success of a video being presented before its actual release, to occur shortly.
The screen showed stirring images of spirituality, nature, and art, rendering homage to Saint Francis, to the Walk dedicated to him, and to the Sacred Valley that it calls home.
Rieti Tourist Board director Diego Di Paolo, who conceived the Saint Francis Walk, was a perfect host, illustrating his outfit’s commitment to promoting one of Italy’s most original and exciting tourism initiatives in recent years: the Saint Francis Walk.
The DVD was presented with its various video contributions, extra features, and technical features by Paolo Campanelli, chairman of Lallaria, the company that produced it.
A highly prestigious guest of honour, José Rodríguez Carballo, General Minister of the Order of Lesser Friars, stressed the great spiritual significance of the Saint Francis Walk, in his conviction that retracing Saint Francis’s footsteps is like walking towards the Lord. The Minister also declared that he himself was preparing to complete the Saint Francis Walk.
Rieti’s political figures also lent their contribution, which was essential for supporting and developing the Walk. Mayor Giuseppe Emili spoke, greeting all the mayors involved in the Walk and bearing witness to the active interest of the provincial seat’s municipal administration. Fabio Melilli, president of the Province of Rieti, was every bit as dynamic in his words, seeing the Saint Francis Walk and the cultural sector as the future engines of development for the entire province.
The presentations were brought to a close by the Lazio region’s superintendent of tourism Luigi Ciaramelletti, who expressed his appreciation for such initiatives – like the DVD dedicated to the Saint Francis Walk – capable of effectively promoting the territory of Rieti.
Giosuè Calabrese, the outgoing president of the province of Rieti, was presented with a plaque expressing gratitude for his intense work during his term of office.
The preview ended with a surprise that delighted the audience: a live concert by Giandomenico Anellino, who composed the music for the televised poem "Frate Asino" by Pasquale Panella, produced by RAIDUE and by the Rieti Tourist Board. |
